House Democracy Partnership Chairman David Price Statement on the Retirement of Congresswoman Susan Davis of California
RALEIGH, NC (September 5, 2019) – House Democracy Partnership (HDP) Chairman David Price (D-NC) issued the following statement on the retirement of HDP colleague, Congresswoman Susan Davis (D-CA):
"Susan Davis is a longtime friend and valued colleague. We have worked closely together, particularly in developing the House Democracy Partnership as an instrument for strengthening parliaments in emerging democracies.
"Susan has been a tireless advocate for the empowerment of women in developing countries, exemplified by her leadership of bipartisan delegations annually to Afghanistan around Mother's Day. She is a conscientious and skilled legislator, offering leadership for years on the Armed Services and Education Committees.
"Lisa and I will miss Susan and her husband Steve but hope to stay in touch. We value their friendship and wish them the best as they enjoy returning home to San Diego."

The House Democracy Partnership, founded in 2005, is a bipartisan commission of the House of Representatives that works to promote responsive, effective government and strengthen democratic institutions by assisting legislatures in emerging democracies.
